My name is John Panteny, born in Portsmouth on the South Coast in 19??!, my early working life was spent in the Midlands in and around the City of Birmingham. I returned to the south in 1992 and now live in West Sussex.
I have been in UK Commercial radio
for over 33 years and work with the great team at
WAVE 105 FM covering the central South Coast.

The Shadows and Cliff Richard were a real influence on my
life and my music in the early 60's as I know they were with countless
people world-wide. I have nothing but huge admiration for musicians like Brian
Bennett who's tremendous work is also detailed in this discography. I enjoy their music very much
and with Hank Marvin in the top ten with a new CD and the Shadows also in
the album charts with "Life Story" (2004) A sell out UK
"Final Tour " plus a DVD and CD of "The Final
Tour" (2005) - it's obvious so many other people world-wide enjoy their music
as well. The background to this web site is simple: in the early 90's I was being
constantly approached by web design companies who wanted to put
together a web site for the
company I worked for. They used language and computer terms I didn't understand
, and they asked for heaps of dosh! - I decided to make myself aware
of what was involved in putting together a web site and used my
interest in The Shadows and Cliff Richard as a project to help me with this
task. - The Web site pages tell the rest............. One of the most frequently asked questions I get
these days is "Do I have all the records & CD's shown?"

Music has always been an important part of
my life. I'm a drummer, or at least I used to be....and as a part of the
"Birmingham Beat Scene", I played in bands through the 60's, 70's and
80's. - They were great days those 60's -
They were good times, very good times - and I met so many nice people,, ..
(one or two of them are still very much in the front of my mind today!)
