Regular Non-Cliff Releases
In addition to Cliff's own personal releases, he has occasionally appeared on the singles of other artists he has worked with. Sometimes he provided guest vocals on group projects (such as Band Aid II); other times he provided backing vocals, played an instrument, wrote a song and/or produced a song.

Reissue Releases
The reissue single is a new edition of a single, typically with a new catalog number and hit songs on both side. Oddly enough, although the practice is common in many parts of the world and for many artists, Cliff Richard has had very few reissue singles in the UK.
The first known UK reissue singles are from a 1981 release of a boxed set of 12 of Cliff's hit 7" singles. The box set, simply titled Cliff, comes in faux black leather box with a clamshell lid (EMI CRBOX ONLY 1). It's interesting that a lot of effort was made to make these as near duplicates of the original releases; all singles have the same stock number as the original releases; and all singles duplicate the original labels except for Miss You Nights, Devil Woman and We Don't Talk Anymore which instead use the new beige EMI label instead. The most significant difference is that all singles are given new picture sleeves except We Don't Talk Anymore which duplicates the original sleeve. The sleeve for We Don't Talk Anymore might even be a recycled sleeve as all other sleeves come in a thin paper sleeve that opens at the top while We Don't Talk Anymore is like the original sleeve which is a harder cardboard like sleeve that opens on the side. Each of the singles in this Cliff boxed set were also sold individually in the shops and can be quite common today.
Finally, two singles, Can't Keep This Feeling In and All I Ask Of You were issued in 2003 and 2008 respectively as download singles. It's not entirely clear why these singles were issued in this format at this time.

This was apparently caught and subsequent pressings had the proper song The Night on the B-side. There are no discernable markings on the singles to know which is the error pressing and which is the correct pressing. It is unclear if the erroneously pressed single was recalled, however, the version with The Night Is So Lonely appears to be more common than the version with The Night. * Show/Hide release information for Wind Me Up (Let Me Go), The Night Is So Lonely and The Night... Music Charts
Cliff has now had 144 charting singles on The Official UK Singles Chart (with his own singles only), spanning more than 1200 weeks total. He has had 14 #1 singles and 58 Top Ten singles. He holds several chart records with the most famous and well known being the only artist to have at least one #1 song in each decade spanning from the 1950s to the 1990s. He's been striving to mark a #1 song in the 2000s, but so far the target has been elusive with his closest approach being #2 in 2006 with 21st Century Christmas/Move It.
Even with all these interesting chart facts, it should be noted that the history of the now official charts can throw some of the statistics awry. It wasn't until about 1969 that the official charts published in Record Retailer (later Music Week) became the self-proclaimed "Official" and subsequently definitive charts under The Official Charts Company, which in turn is endorsed by the British Phonographic Industry and the British Association of Record Dealers. Before that date, charts were compiled by many different entities, including Record Mirror and New Musical Express. Their criteria for a single's chart position may have varied radically from year to year. For example, the The Next Time/Bachelor Boy single charted on the Record Retailer (now official) chart at #1; however on the NME charts, The Next Time and Bachelor Boy charted separately, peaking at #1 and #3 respectively. The method for a single's or song's position could vary radically, based upon store sales of records and sheet music and/or radio airplay. It wasn't until 1969 that the Record Retailer charts emerged as the leading authority of the UK singles chart and as a result, all of their charts from the prior years published by Record Retailer starting in March 1960 became the official chart positions with chart positions before March 1960 (before Record Retailer was published) being taken from the NME charts instead. The Record Mirror charts and their kind are typically ignored as a result. By some accounts, the NME charts during the 1960's were considered more authoritative, such that if they were considered "official" today it would change many artists' chart statistics.
It should also be noted that at the start of Cliff's career in 1958, only the Top 30 singles from the NME charts were compiled. In March 1960, this was expanded to the Top 50 with the Record Retailer charts; and in May 1978, it was expanded to Top 75. Since then, only the Top 75 has been official. In January 1983, chart positions for 76 to 100 have also been compiled, however, the way these positions were calculated (not consistent with the Top 75) has varied greatly over the years and although they were sometimes published, they are not considered official chart positions.

Below is a chart that shows the Official UK Singles Chart position of each song versus its week on the chart. Due to the sheer volume of songs that have charted, the chart only shows the top five or so songs for each decade. It's rather obvious from the chart that Living Doll is Cliff's biggest UK hit, having peaked at #1 for many weeks, followed by a very long run on the chart. The second most successful single is Travellin' Light, Please Don't Tease or The Young Ones, although it's not so obvious from the chart exactly which song would rank #2. Cliff's biggest international single, We Don't Talk Anymore peaked for many weeks on the UK chart, but it fell out of the charts very quickly compared to other singles.
As an interesting analysis, let's assign points to each chart placing, with chart position #1 = 30 points, #2 = 29 points, #3 = 28 points, etc. down to #30 = 1 point. Then accumulating these points for each song, the song Living Doll garners top honors with 516 points, while Travellin' Light gets 413 points, Please Don't Tease gets 403 points and The Young Ones gets 389 points. Given this, it's clear that Living Doll is Cliff's biggest UK hit of all time. This ignores chart positions beyond #30 because that is the maximum chart positions at the start of Cliff's career. The chart below illustrates this point system by ranking all Cliff's charted songs. It also color codes the songs by decade and clearly, with the 1960s shown in purple, Cliff's enjoyed most of his success in the 1960s.
516 - Living Doll 413 - Travellin' Light 403 - Please Don't Tease 389 - The Young Ones 355 - The Next Time/Bachelor Boy 320 - Fall In Love With You 303 - I'm Looking Out The Window/Do You Wanna Dance 296 - I Love You 290 - Wind Me Up (Let Me Go) 281 - Summer Holiday 280 - We Don't Talk Anymore 280 - Move It 264 - A Voice In The Wilderness 252 - A Girl Like You 240 - Don't Talk To Him 235 - The Minute You're Gone 234 - Theme For A Dream 228 - Congratulations 224 - The Millennium Prayer 220 - When The Girl In Your Arms Is The Girl In Your Heart 218 - It's All In The Game 216 - It'll Be Me 213 - Nine Times Out Of Ten 211 - Daddy's Home 209 - Lucky Lips 201 - Living Doll (Comedy Version) 195 - High Class Baby 190 - Goodbye Sam Hello Samantha 187 - Constantly 185 - Gee Whizz It's You 180 - On The Beach 173 - Some People 171 - Power To All Our Friends 169 - All I Ask Of You 164 - The Day I Met Marie 164 - I Could Easily Fall (In Love With You) 164 - All My Love 157 - Visions 153 - Mistletoe And Wine 152 - Mean Streak 151 - Saviour's Day 134 - In The Country 130 - Wired For Sound 130 - Carrie 126 - It's All Over 123 - Dreamin' 122 - Please Don't Fall In Love 121 - The Twelfth Of Never 118 - Good Times 117 - Throw Down A Line 111 - Sing A Song Of Freedom 107 - I Just Don't Have The Heart 103 - I'm The Lonely One 103 - Big Ship 100 - The Best Of Me 094 - Time Drags By 094 - On My Word 094 - Devil Woman 091 - My Pretty One 090 - I Still Believe In You 087 - Living In Harmony 085 - Blue Turns To Grey 083 - True Love Ways 075 - The Only Way Out 073 - Miss You Nights 073 - (You Keep Me) Hangin' On 072 - We Should Be Together 072 - I Can't Ask For Anymore Than You 070 - She's So Beautiful 068 - She Means Nothing To Me 066 - Silhouettes 063 - My Kinda Life 063 - Little Town 063 - Expresso Bongo (EP) 059 - A Little In Love 055 - All I Have To Do Is Dream/Miss You Nights 053 - Santa's List 053 - 21st Century Christmas/Move It 051 - Suddenly 049 - With The Eyes Of A Child 049 - From A Distance 047 - Thank You For A Life Time 046 - Never Say Die (Give A Little Bit More) 043 - Dynamite 042 - Peace In Our Time 041 - Somewhere Over The Rainbow/What A Wonderful World 038 - Stronger Than That 037 - Sunny Honey Girl 035 - Livin' Lovin' Doll 034 - Lean On You 032 - Can't Keep This Feeling In 031 - The Time In Between 029 - I Cannot Give You My Love 028 - Whenever God Shines His Light 026 - Somethin' Is Goin' On 026 - Healing Love 025 - Marianne 025 - Don't Forget To Catch Me 021 - What Car 021 - The Joy Of Living 017 - I Ain't Got Time Anymore 016 - I'll Come Runnin' 015 - Never Mind 015 - More To Life 012 - Misunderstood Man 009 - Human Work Of Art 009 - Had To Be 008 - The Miracle 008 - Take Me High 008 - I'll Love You Forever Today 007 - Silvery Rain 004 - Baby You're Dynamite 002 - Let Me Be The One 002 - Help It Along/Tomorrow Rising 001 - This New Year * * * * * * 1950s = RED 1960s = PURPLE 1970s = YELLOW 1980s = BLUE 1990s = GREEN 2000s = GRAY
Perhaps it's not surprising that in Cliff's top 20 songs calculated in this manner, all but two (We Don't Talk Anymore and The Millennium Prayer) are from 1968 or earlier. The first ten years of Cliff's career are when he enjoyed is greatest success. It is somewhat surprising that We Don't Talk Anymore didn't rank higher, considering that it is Cliff's biggest selling single ever; however it should be remembered that this statistic is based upon international sales, not just UK sales. Devil Woman is another very successful international single from Cliff's later years that, under this analysis, only ranks 58 points because the international success did not necessarily translate to UK success. Also, although it never hit #1, Cliff's biggest song of the 1980s was the #2 hit Daddy's Home and not the #1 charting songs Mistletoe And Wine or Living Doll (with The Young Ones and Hank Marvin).
